The great majority of hydraulic failures come from contamination of the fluid. Wear particles, dust drawn in through the breather, manufacturing residues: these are what score directional control valve faces, wear out pumps and jam spools. Filtering always costs less than repairing.

A filter is defined by three things. The rating, given in micrometres with a beta ratio to ISO 16889, must match the cleanliness class required by the most sensitive components in the circuit. The rated flow governs the pressure drop. The position in the circuit determines the type: suction (a coarse-mesh strainer, to protect the pump without starving it), return (the most common) and high pressure (upstream of a servo valve or another vulnerable component).

  • Keep to the original manufacturer's rating: filtering finer than intended can hold the bypass open permanently
  • Change the element when the clogging indicator calls for it, not by the calendar alone
  • Do not forget the reservoir breather, which filters the air drawn in

We identify your elements from the markings on the filter body or on the old element, and point you towards an equivalent when the original part number is no longer available.
