Washing, water and surface stripping

On a truck or farm wash station, a drain jetting unit or a stripping rig, the wear comes from the line, not from the machine. The hose is dragged along the ground, wound and unwound, and run over by a wheel. The lance and the fitting are handled wet and with gloves on. What gives way: a split outer sleeve that lets water reach the braid, a hose end that has turned in its crimp, a lance seal, a leaking hose reel.

Two points are not open to negotiation. Safety first: a high-pressure jet goes straight through a glove, and a hose is never repaired with a clamp or a makeshift fitting. Hoses for water-jetting machines come under EN 1829-2, which sets out construction, marking and proof pressure. Chemistry second: hot water, alkaline detergents and degreasers attack the rubber compounds and swell the seals. A hose intended for cold water, fitted to a hot-water machine, ages without warning. Stay within the pressure and the temperature printed on the sleeve, and replace the hose as soon as the braid shows through.

• Spiral-reinforced suction and delivery tubing, sump pumps.
• Cam and groove fittings (Camlock), Guillemin symmetrical fittings, band clamps and whipcheck safety cables.

We crimp your hoses at the Riom workshop, to your sample or to your dimensions, and we repair hose reels and wash lines both in the workshop and on site. Bring us the complete hose with its fittings. Failing that, note the length, the inside diameter, the thread at each end, the working pressure, the maximum temperature and the detergent in use. The marking on the sleeve tells us most of what we need: take a photograph of it.
