Pneumatic connection comes down to two interfaces: the tubing side and the thread side. On the tubing side, the push-in fitting grips the tubing with a stainless steel collet and seals it on an O-ring, so the outside diameter of the tubing is what you have to quote. On the thread side, you find the parallel G thread (ISO 228) sealing on a flat gasket or an O-ring, and the tapered R thread (ISO 7-1) sealing on the threads themselves.

Quick couplings, for their part, are only interchangeable within the same profile. ISO 6150 defines several plug profiles that will not connect to one another, and they coexist in the field with the European profile, known as Euro, and the Japanese profile. A plug that only goes half in, or that leaks with a hiss, is almost always a profile problem, not a size problem.

  • Take the time to standardise a workshop on a single coupling profile: it is the most frequent source of wasted time.
  • On a tapered fitting, the seal is made on the threads, with a suitable thread sealant and not with tape wound the wrong way.
  • Safety couplings with two-stage venting stop the tubing whipping when it is disconnected.

Bring in the plug or the fitting you have removed: we identify the profile and the thread from the part, and assemble the complete unit onto your tubing.
