Pneumatic tubing is chosen on four points: the material, the outside diameter / inside diameter pairing, the working pressure at the service temperature, and the method of connection. Unlike hydraulics, it is the outside diameter that decides the fitting, because push-in fittings grip the tubing on its outer wall.

Polyurethane is the general-purpose tubing: supple, tolerant of bending, well suited to repeated movement. Polyamide is stiffer, stands up better to temperature and to hydrocarbons, and remains the reference for fixed lines and braking circuits. PTFE covers high temperatures and aggressive fluids. Textile-reinforced rubber tubing is used for workshop and site connections, where abrasion and crushing on the ground are the real enemies.

  • The working pressure of plastic tubing is quoted at 20 °C: it drops away noticeably as the temperature rises.
  • A clean, square cut is what makes a push-in fitting seal. Tubing cut with pliers goes oval and leaks.
  • Respect the minimum bend radius: tubing bent to a sharp angle kinks and cracks.

We cut your tubing to length, assemble the fittings and the quick couplings, and replace workshop hoses on site or on the bench.
